When a contact sends an email to you, HubSpot uses artificial intelligence (AI) to check for any contact information included in the email signature. It can also scan the email body for a phone number. If there's any data that is not stored in the contact record, HubSpot will populate the missing contact properties with information from the email. This feature is controlled by the Automatically capture contact details from emails with HubSpot AI setting in your account's contacts settings.
Please note: your inbox must be connected to HubSpot and you must have inbox automation enabled for this connected inbox in order for HubSpot AI to scan the email. This feature will not create new contacts or overwrite existing contact data.
The following properties can be populated using HubSpot AI if they're included in the email signature:
*HubSpot AI will scan both the email body and the email signature for a phone number.
Please note: currently, HubSpot's AI can only scan emails that are composed in English, Spanish, and French.
If a property is updated via HubSpot's AI, the property's change source will be HubSpot AI. If you are a user with Account access permissions, you can enable or disable this setting it in your contacts settings:
Please note: this update can take up to ten minutes to occur. HubSpot AI will only scan new emails after you enable this setting; it will not scan your past emails.
